Faithless, the Message behind the Music
Mark with Maxi Jazz of Faithless
Mark’s next book project is with Maxi Jazz of Faithless; Mark has been a huge fan since the band’s inception in 1994. Max is a buddhist and nowhere is this more evident than in the band’s totally inspiring lyrics. In Max’s own words: “Essentially my lyrics were talking to the faithless-those with no faith in themselves.” And here lies the connection between Max and Mark’s visions. Indeed Mark credits Faithless’ first CD as one of the key influences allowing him to survive and beat his breakdown.
Music Matters is a paradigm-busting book: it brings the worlds of Buddhism, neuroscience and self development together. Each of these has a communication problem: neuroscience is seen perceived as too complex; Buddhism is considered Eastern and still somewhat irrelevant in the West; personal development is seen as a New Age fad, but in these troubled times, the wisdom in these three areas is vital to helping us find a way forward in our personal and communal lives.
Music Matters gets to the core of these apparently diverse topics and by overlaying them onto the lyrics of Faithless, the world’s greatest Dance Band, it delivers practical life-enhancing guidance for humanity.
